The Shaft Shark is a serrated edge disc, machined from high quality type 316 stainless steel. The internal diameter is machined to fit the shaft diameter of your boat - either metric or standard. Attached to your propeller shaft, it rotates with the shaft, cutting anything that might try to become entangled around your shaft and prop. Shark Shaft cuts through lines, nets and other underwater debris as soon as it catches. Features: - Eliminates the need for towing due to fouled stern gear or propeller
- Eliminate dangerous dives to clear your prop
- Eliminate possible shaft and strut damage
- Split version eliminates the need to remove propellor for installation
- Drilling of the shaft required for single piece styles threatens shaft integrity on small diameter shafts and is less effective than the clamping action of this split version.
The correct model for your boat will depend on your shaft diameter and your propeller hub diameter. Before installing, measure the distance from the forward edge of the propeller hub to the aft end of the cutlass bearing. This should be at least 0.95" (24mm). Shark Shaft should be installed up against the propeller hub, not against the cutlass bearing. This is necessary for water flow through the cutlass bearing and for shaft thrust movement when motoring. Specifications: For Shaft Diameters: 1", 1-1/8", 1-1/4", 25mm, 30mm Blade Diameter: 3.20" Hub Diameter: 2.25"
